It’s time to put away our heavy winter layers and bring out lighter garments in brighter colours. You might be packing away cold-weather accessories like toques, gloves and knit scarves, but we’re here to remind you of one basic but very important fashion tip - scarves are an all-year wardrobe essential.

In soft, lightweight fabrics that are suitable for warm weather, scarves are the perfect way to add a pop of colour or trending print to your spring and summer looks. Lovely fabrics with a high content of cotton, linen and airy viscose are comfortable and breathable. A scarf can be the perfect finishing touch and often the piece that pulls your outfit together. It can be worn by simply draping it around your neck or tied in several creative ways. To inspire you wrap yourself in style this season, we’re sharing 4 easy ways to style scarves with some help from Renate @stylealiveafter55.

    Knotted Belt

Roll of fold an oblong scarf so it can slip through your pant belt loops with ease. Tie it into a knot at the font. Continue to tie into loose knots until you reach the end. Neatly tuck the loose end behind the ‘belt’ you have created. Shift the belt into place so the knotted pattern is centered.

    Clean Neck Knot

Fold an oblong scarf 2-3 times until it in your desired width. Drape it around your neck with the ends hanging loose in front. Tie a knot at the neck – the knot should be neat but slightly loose, almost fluffy. Take the loose ends to the back of your neck, and secure with a knot. Adjust so the knot at the front sits neatly under your chin or to the side if you prefer.
